2010 Greater Everglades Ecosystem Restoration Conference

More than 500 scientists participated in the 2010 Greater Everglades Ecosystem Restoration conference hosted at the Grande Resort in Naples, Florida July 12-16, 2010

More than 500 scientists from several agencies and universities participated in the 2010 Greater Everglades Ecosystem Restoration (GEER) conference in Naples, Florida 12-16 July, 2010. The meeting discussed planning, policy and scientific matters related to the Everglades as a “Living Laboratory of Change”.

Ricardo A. Alvarez participated as part of a team representing the Florida Center for Environmental Studies (CES) at Florida Atlantic University,presenting a paper in the concurrent session on “Climate Change, Sea Level Rise & Natural Hazards Part 5: The Built Environment”. The conference was organized and hosted by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Jacksonville District), the National Park Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the University of Florida IFAS.
