On 9 March 2007 Bishop Thomas Wenski of Orlando, Florida, who also served as President of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, convened a briefing to discuss climate change with a focus on the state of the science, the human impact, the impact to the built-environment and human activity especially in Florida, and the impact on disadvantaged sectors of society.
Monsignor Wenski invited scientists in various disciplines and subject experts to speak on the various subjects identified above. I was invited to specifically address the potential impacts of climate change in Florida with a focus on human activity and the built-environment.
